I thought of writing this after reading a post on a blog which i frequent. It was a personal and an emotionally written post.. i had a 'been-there' feeling after reading that stuff.. felt like posting a comment to make that person feel comfortable ... but stopped as this thought of aadaab came in.
There must be a rule book somewhere about how to behave when you read personal blogs. Blogs are a public place where any one can come and read. If it is a technology and news related blog then i guess the rules are quite well known and are not an issue..normal rules for posting comments apply there , as long as you are not offending and not out of context it is okay to post comments on these blogs.. but when it comes to personal blogs these rules may not be enough.
Personal blogs contain posts which can be thought of as parts of personal diary which the author thinks as suitable to be made public, but sometimes posts on these blogs are very personal.. and when you read these blogs regularly you grow a kind of attachment with the author, as you keep on learning about the person day by day.
am addicted to reading some blogs .. cant help it now, some people write so well :). only thing i must learn is when to comment and when to be silent. Apart from that , i have taken liberty to add a few links to my 'Blogs I Read' .. this is not correct.. must take the blog owners permission before i add anyone to the blog roll.
ps: mani asks me where do i get/copy-paste the poems from? well that has to do with one of my addictions ... reading english, urdu and persian literature.. have a collection of Rumi/Hafiz with me. i remember many of the works of Amir Khusro , Iqbal and other Indian poets by heart. it is another thing that ive to lean on these to make my otherwise stupid posts look good ;).

Hmmm.. I've also faced this dilemma while reading sometimes extremely personal posts on blogs. Sometimes I comment, sometimes I ponder, sometimes I close the window and leave. :) There probably is no rule for these things, is there? And the blogger is setting themselves up for a comment if they put it on their blog, so it's hard to tell....

as you said they may not be any rule, only depends on the blogger who has written the post. mostly people dont realise that their posts are readable by anyone throughout the world.
any ways ive commented on that blog and got back a polite thanks.
