ego is the biggest enemy in relationships..this gets proven to me many times. it results in unhappy marriages, broken friendships, jilted lovers... and in the relationship with the Creator it leaves you nowhere. what happens in the name of marriage is a big example .. i mean typical Indian marriages. The guys family and their people are supposed to be always 'oonche' higher than the girl's side.
personally i dont argue with anyone whose argument is solely based on the feeling that 'I am the one who knows' ... rather than a rational viewpoint. i simply agree and step back... believe me it is the best thing to do. if the aim of the person in discussion is not to gain or share knowledge , but just to win in the argument or to show off that 'I know more than you do' .... any rational argument given will not be accepted. recently in such a discussion i remembered this poem by Iqbal. it is a beautiful statement and the answer i prefer to give if any one has a ego problem with me.
there was someone who said .. ego is a very subtle thing, if you say 'I dont have ego'... it in itself means the presence of ego .

Nice blog. Yes, ego is best left out of any relationship - whether personal or professional.
