bin tere har khushi adhoori hai..

Tears are a great companion.... they are a good way to bring out our inner emotional state.. a state which has to do with our soul....instead of some chemical reaction in the body. May be this is one of the many links between the body and the soul. As we wont realise day if there were no night ....and wouldnt have known happiness if there was no pain... i guess without tears... har khushi adhoori hai. Recent past has been very emotional for me, even a small trace of pain or emotions i see anywhere...even in drama... makes me tearful. guess this means there is light somewhere in near future.

if this emotional state has to do with the soul then those who have left the world may also have the same feelings ..keep guessing what would represent tears for them there... as they have left their bodies here in the confines of the graveyard.

this makes me remember a very beautiful poem by Iqbal.. 'Khiftagaan-e-khaak se istefsaar' ( Questions for those who are silently lying in their graves)

Ae ma-e gaflat* ke sarmasto kahaan rahte ho tum
kuch kaho us des ki aakhir jahaan rahte ho tum

Aadmi vaan bhi hisaar-e-gham me hai mahsoor kya?
us vilaayat me bhi hai insaan ka dil majboor kya?

vaan bhi jal marta hai soz-e-shamma par parvaana kya?
us chaman me bhi gul-o-bulbul ka hai afsaana kya?

yaan to ek misre me pehloo se nikal jaata hai dil
sha-r* ki garmi se kya vaan bhi pigal jaata hai dil

vaan bhi faryaad-e-bulbul par chaman rota nahin
is jahaan ki tarah vaan bhi dard-e-dil hota nahin

deed se taskeen paata hai dil-e-mahjoor bhi
'lan-taraani'* kah rahe hain kya vahaan ke tur bhi?

ma-e-gaflat :-> mai means intoxicant in urdu...ma-e gaflat is a state of intoxication
sh-r :-> an urdu couplet..sher.
lan-taraani :-> This is the answer Moses got when he said 'God i want to see you' 'Rabb-e-irni'
